FAQ

Why HobbyBox?

Card shows and trade nights are the lifeblood of the Hobby. But when you walk into an event, it’s extremely difficult to know what cards are in the room, and who has them. While walking around an event and browsing through dealer cases and hobby boxes is a ton of fun, it can also be a very frustrating experience if you’re looking for a specific card. Sometimes dealers are talking to another collector or people have their hobby boxes on the dealer tables blocking your view of the cards.

Finding cards and getting deals done is a lot more challenging than it should be. HobbyBox is determined to make attending in-person events frictionless and fun by helping people easily find the card they are looking for.

How do I get the HobbyBox app?

The HobbyBox app is available in the Apple iOS app store and coming soon to Google Play.

What kind of cards can I import to the HobbyBox app?

Currently, we support all PSA graded slabs. We will be rolling out support for SGC and BGS shortly. The HobbyBox app currently supports the import of graded slabs only. We plan to offer support for raw cards in the future.

How do I import all my cards?

HobbyBox makes it easy to take a photo of up to 20 graded cards at once, with the ability to take multiple photos (of 20 cards each) per import. Collectors can upload hundreds of slabs within minutes.

Whether you’re prepping your inventory the day before the event, or you acquire cards at the event, HobbyBox makes it easy for collectors to import their inventory so other collectors can find the cards.

Once you’ve uploaded your card images, you can view the status of your import by going to Cards > Import Activity (located at the top of the page).

After your import is complete, the most recently imported cards will display first in your inventory section.

Should I upload ALL of my cards to HobbyBox?

You certainly can import all of your cards, but we think it’s important to pick your best cards to upload, in order to increase the likelihood of people visiting your booth or seeking you out for a trade.

As you buy and sell cards at an event, it's super simple to keep your HobbyBox inventory updated so that other collectors can locate your cards.

Once I find a card I want, how do I contact the owner?

Look for the owners “location information” listed on each card page under the “events” section.

Additionally, you can look for a user’s social media usernames in order to message them via Instagram, FB or X.

We will soon be introducing direct messaging within the HobbyBox app to make it easier for users to communicate with each other.

I’m not a dealer, can I still list my cards on HobbyBox?

Absolutely! HobbyBox is for everyone attending a card event. Think of HobbyBox as a digital dealers table that makes it easy for anyone attending the event to list their cards, even if you’re walking around the event the entire time.

When you mark that you’re attending an event, you can share your location information, or provide an easy way for another collector to contact you to meet up and get a deal done.

How does the comps price feature work?

When viewing a players card page, scroll to the bottom and click “View recent sales” to retrieve price comps from multiple platforms such as eBay, Goldin, MySlabs, Fanatics Collect, Pristine Auction and Heritage Auctions.

We are continuing to refine the results in order to provide the most accurate price comps on every card.

How do I submit a card show or trade night event so it’s listed in the HobbyBox app?

If we are missing an upcoming event, please email us at: events@hobbybox.app and include: event name, date, times, and location. Feel free to provide a link to the event’s website as well.

How do I provide user feedback?

We’d love to know how we can improve your experience. Please send us an email to help@hobbybox.app and we will get back to you asap.
